Hair Cut

Trying to save money over our married life, Barbara has cut my hair each month for the past 20 plus years.  No one has complained about it before.  But several months ago, Barbara was out of town when I needed my hair cut.  So, I went to the closest barber.  After sitting in the chair for only a few seconds, the barber asked if I had come here before.  When I replied, I hadn't.  He said, I can tell.  When I spoke to Barbara about the experience, we laughed.  She may not be perfect, but she does a good job and it's helped us over the years to control spending.

However, the experience remained with us.  So much so, that only 6 months later, she suggested that I get another professional cut.  I decided to return to the same barber shop.  It was a different person this time.  Again, I was asked if I had been here before.  When I replied that I had, there was complete silence.  He started to cut my hair and we didn't speak for a long time - in case you didn't know, I'm the silent type.  Finally, he casually mentioned that I came in before and asked if it was one of his guys that had cut my hair.  When I mentioned that it was six months ago when I came here, he let out his breath in relief and said that he was glad of that.  He and I laughed.  He said whoever cut it last time, he wouldn't let them cut it again.

But after paying my $18, I knew I appreciated Barbara's hair cut a lot more than his.  Thanks Barbara!

However, I am left with a problem.  Who will I go to in another six months; because I'm fairly certain I don't want any more abuse from that place.
